The Claud Butler Ridge 1.0 is a capable and versatile electric mountain bike designed for riders who want to explore trails, bridleways, gravel paths, and everyday routes with confidence. Built around 27.5" wheels and a lightweight aluminium frame, it offers a balanced blend of comfort, control, and value.
Powered by a Bafang rear hub motor delivering 32Nm of torque, the Ridge 1.0 provides pedal assistance up to the UK road-legal limit of 15.5mph (25km/h). The integrated 375Wh battery delivers up to 40 miles (64km) of assisted range and can be removed for convenient charging on or off the bike.
A Shimano 8-speed drivetrain provides straightforward shifting across varied terrain, while the 120mm suspension fork with hydraulic lockout helps absorb bumps and uneven surfaces for a more comfortable ride. Wide 27.5" tyres offer reassuring grip on mixed terrain without feeling sluggish on tarmac sections.
The LCD display keeps key riding information easily accessible, including speed, battery level, and assist mode selection. Combined with comfortable finishing kit from Selle Royal and wide handlebars for confident handling, the Ridge 1.0 is a suitable choice for riders looking for a consistent electric mountain bike from a British cycling brand.

Electric Bikes (EAPC)
Most electric bikes are classified as Electrically Assisted Pedal Cycles (EAPCs) and are legal to use on UK roads if they:
- Have a maximum motor power of 250W
- Do not assist beyond 15.5 mph (25 km/h)
- Require pedalling for motor assistance
EAPCs can be ridden without a licence, tax, or insurance, and are treated the same as regular bicycles.
