The Dawes Elegance shows that not every electric bike needs to look sporty to be capable. Designed around comfort, practicality and relaxed riding, it's the kind of e-bike that encourages you to leave the car at home and enjoy the journey instead.

At the heart of the Elegance is a lightweight aluminium step-through frame that makes getting on and off the bike easier. Whether you're wearing everyday clothes, carrying shopping, or simply prefer an easier mounting position, the low-step design makes riding more accessible and enjoyable. Combined with swept-back handlebars and an upright riding position, it delivers a comfortable experience that feels natural from the first ride.

Power comes from a Bafang 250W rear hub motor producing 32Nm of torque, providing pedal assistance up to the UK legal limit of 15.5mph. The removable 375Wh battery offers up to 40 miles of range on a single charge, making it suitable for daily errands, commuting and longer leisure rides. When it's time to recharge, simply remove the battery and plug it into a standard household socket.

The Shimano 7-speed gearing system keeps operation simple while giving you enough flexibility to tackle gentle climbs and varying terrain. Puncture-protected tyres help reduce unwanted maintenance, while the Promax braking system delivers consistent stopping performance across varied conditions.

Practical features come as standard. Full-length mudguards help keep road spray at bay, the rear pannier rack makes carrying bags and shopping simple, while the full chainguard helps protect clothing from dirt and grease. The Selle Royal comfort saddle and ergonomic grips complete a package designed to prioritise rider comfort.

If you're looking for an easy-to-ride electric hybrid bike that focuses on comfort, convenience and everyday usability, the Dawes Elegance is a suitable choice.

Electric Bikes (EAPC)

Most electric bikes are classified as Electrically Assisted Pedal Cycles (EAPCs) and are legal to use on UK roads if they:

• Have a maximum motor power of 250W
• Do not assist beyond 15.5 mph (25 km/h)
• Require pedalling for motor assistance

EAPCs can be ridden without a licence, tax, or insurance, and are treated the same as regular bicycles.

Important

It is the customer's responsibility to ensure any e-bike is used in accordance with UK laws and regulations. If you are unsure, please contact us before purchasing.
