The 250W rear hub motor works alongside a responsive torque sensor to deliver smooth, natural assistance, while the Shimano 7-speed drivetrain provides flexibility for varying terrain and gradients.
Powered by a removable 36V 10Ah battery using premium LG cells, the Zip offers an impressive real-world range of up to 120km on the lowest assist setting. The battery also supports USB-C PD 3.0 charging and discharging, allowing it to double as a convenient power bank for compatible devices.

Electric Bikes (EAPC)
Most electric bikes are classified as Electrically Assisted Pedal Cycles (EAPCs) and are legal to use on UK roads if they:
- Have a maximum motor power of 250W
- Do not assist beyond 15.5 mph (25 km/h)
- Require pedalling for motor assistance
EAPCs can be ridden without a licence, tax, or insurance, and are treated the same as regular bicycles.
Electric Scooters
Privately owned e-scooters are currently not legal to use on public roads, pavements, or cycle lanes in the UK.
They may only be used:
- On private land
- With the landowner’s permission
