The Engwe EP-2 Boost is one of the most popular folding electric bikes in the Engwe range, combining everyday practicality with the confidence and comfort of a fat tyre e-bike. Powered by a 250W brushless rear hub motor delivering 55Nm of torque, the EP-2 Boost provides smooth and responsive assistance for hills, longer journeys, and everyday riding. Its 20" × 4.0" fat tyres work alongside the front suspension system to absorb bumps, potholes, and uneven surfaces, helping to create a more comfortable and stable ride.
The folding frame makes storage and transport simple, folding down to a compact size that fits easily into car boots, hallways, and office spaces. A removable 48V 13Ah lithium-ion battery provides up to 120km of range in PAS 1 mode, reducing the need for frequent charging and making it ideal for daily commuting.

Electric Bikes (EAPC)
Most electric bikes are classified as Electrically Assisted Pedal Cycles (EAPCs) and are legal to use on UK roads if they:
- Have a maximum motor power of 250W
- Do not assist beyond 15.5 mph (25 km/h)
- Require pedalling for motor assistance
EAPCs can be ridden without a licence, tax, or insurance, and are treated the same as regular bicycles.
Electric Scooters
Privately owned e-scooters are currently not legal to use on public roads, pavements, or cycle lanes in the UK.
They may only be used:
- On private land
- With the landowner’s permission
