One of the standout features of the P20 is its carbon belt drive system. Unlike a traditional chain, a belt drive requires minimal maintenance, runs quietly, and eliminates the need for regular lubrication. For riders who store their bike indoors or use it for daily commuting, this provides a cleaner and more hassle-free ownership experience.
Powered by a 250W motor delivering up to 42Nm of torque, the P20 uses a responsive torque sensor system to provide smooth and natural pedal assistance. Rather than delivering power abruptly, the assistance adjusts to your pedalling effort, creating a comfortable and intuitive riding experience in stop-start urban environments.
With a range of up to 100km, hydraulic disc brakes, compact folded dimensions, and a lightweight 18.5kg design, the Engwe P20 is built to make everyday travel simpler, cleaner, and more enjoyable.

Electric Bikes (EAPC)
Most electric bikes are classified as Electrically Assisted Pedal Cycles (EAPCs) and are legal to use on UK roads if they:
- Have a maximum motor power of 250W
- Do not assist beyond 15.5 mph (25 km/h)
- Require pedalling for motor assistance
EAPCs can be ridden without a licence, tax, or insurance, and are treated the same as regular bicycles.
Electric Scooters
Privately owned e-scooters are currently not legal to use on public roads, pavements, or cycle lanes in the UK.
They may only be used:
- On private land
- With the landowner’s permission
